Discovering the Carnac<\/strong> alignments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Just a few kilometers from Camping Paradis Les Palmiers, you’ll discover an extraordinary heritage with a huge reputation:<\/strong> the megaliths of Carnac<\/strong>, soon to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The commune of Carnac<\/a>, in Southern Brittany, is home to a number of exceptionally rich megalithic sites (M\u00e8ne, Kermario and Kerlescan). A mecca of European prehistory<\/strong>, these sites form a monumental architectural ensemble that is unique in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between 5000 and 2000 B.C.<\/strong>, some 3,000 menhirs <\/strong>stood on this 4 km-long site. It seems that this architecture has a cultic significance, but many mysteries still surround these astonishing alignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dolmens<\/strong> and tumuli<\/strong> are individual or collective burials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 6,000 archaeological objects on display<\/strong>, the <\/strong>Mus\u00e9e de la Pr\u00e9histoire<\/a> is the ideal place to continue your immersion in the Neolithic period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four-arched stone bridge<\/strong> linking the lower and upper towns<\/strong> was built in the 13th century. Its final form dates back to 1752, and it was last restored in 1983. Situated along the footpath, with its feet in the water, this chapel was built in the mid-17\u1d49 century<\/strong>. With its simple exterior and chimney-shaped bell tower, the chapel’s interior is extraordinary! Blue, stars, boats, a sea anchor in a stained glass window… the world of the sea is very present here.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/section>

The St-Philibert<\/strong> trail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All along the path along St-Philibert, you’ll discover many beautiful things. Visit port of La Trinit\u00e9-Sur-Mer<\/strong>, the channel with boats <\/strong>entering and leaving the harbour throughout the day, the Kernevest<\/strong> lighthouse<\/strong>, known as the “Feu de Crac’h”, the Kernevest fort built under the direction of Napoleon III and now restored as a sailing school, the 2 beaches of St-Philibert, as well as oyster farms with tastings, and of course the little chapel…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Charming campsite, neither too big nor too small, ideally located for visiting this beautiful region<\/b> (for beach lovers, there’s something for everyone nearby, with or without waves and pretty coves to discover too). This campsite is ideally located for walking along the seafront or in La Trinit\u00e9-sur-Mer, which is just next door! Very well thought-out campsite for children (swimming pool, playground…) and parents (boules area, bar with entertainment…).
